Update Kids Club March 7th, 2021

Dear praying Friends and Family!

Wow, 60 kids showed up last Sunday afternoon at our Bible Verse Memory Club!  Praise the LORD!  They all showed up an hour early, as they were so excited to meet again!  We have not been able to meet with the kids due to local COVID-19 restrictions, but recently received approval from our village officials to meet with masks & social distancing.

Our Team decided to give 5kg/11lbs bags of rice to all the kids & our helpers, as the local economy is still very poor, and many folks are still out of work in our village.  The Philippine government stopped giving aid to the people here about 8 month ago…

We praise the LORD for His provision in all things!

Please enjoy the pictures below!

Thanks for praying with us and for us!

Rice Distribution Feb. 28th, 2021

Dear praying Friends and Family!

We praise the LORD for his wonderful Provision and His Goodness!

This last Saturday, February 28th, the LORD allowed us to distribute 265 bags, each 5kg/ 11lbs, of rice to our village.  Our barangay kapitan (he is like a mayor…), Jun Hilario, coordinated this immense task with us, and every family got their bag!  Each bag had a Tagalog Gospel tract attached to it and we continue to pray that many of the village people to receive the LORD Jesus as their personal Savior!

Lord willing, we will do this again in about 4 weeks, praying that we will get the rice here on time…please continue to pray!

Thank you all who helped us with this, we appreciate yor prayer and your fellowship very much!

Thanks for praying with us and for us!

In Him!

Update February 17th, 2021

Dear praying Friends & Family,

We had our yearly “Winter Storms” with low temperatures (77F), high winds, and little rain…we actually enjoy this time of year because of the lower temperature & lower humidity.  We did not have sunshine for about a month now, but 2 days ago, the LORD gave us a blue sky, no wind, and a temperature around 86F…

There are still COVID restrictions in place, but we are able to work around them.  The authorities only enforce the mandate for masks, and the evening 8pm curfew, which does not affect us that much…

The coffee shop in town has little to no traffic and Karen & I have been taken care of the rent the last few months.  Also, Lani (the official owner of this livelyhood shop) has been sickly lately and Karen had to help out a lot.  We are still praying for the LORD to tell us what to do with the shop, and we feel compelled to keep it going as long as we can…

We are planning another rice distribution, as soon as the rice arrives in town. We ordered 520 pieces of 5kg/11lbs bags, and 600 Gospel tracts.  We are planing is to give out the first half asap, and then the rest 2 weeks later.   This is because of logistics, and not any COVID restrictions…

Also, Karen was asked if the ladies could meet again for Bible study (praise the LORD!) and we have permission from our Barangy Kapitan (aka village major) to do so!  We just received the new study materials & Gospel tracts yesterday!  Thank you LORD!

Otherwise, we are longing for a US furlough, but it seems that that will not be possible for a while.  On a wonderful note, both of our Philippine Visas were approved and we received our documentation & passports back just yesterday! Praise the LORD!

Also, please continue to pray for the following:

⚑  For many to come to receive the LORD Jesus as their Savior!

⚑  Coffee store in town, a livelihood project, no traffic due to COVID restrictions

⚑  Upcoming rice distribution

⚑  Ladies Bible Study, trying to restart

⚑  Kid’s Bible Verse Memory Club, trying to restart

⚑  The King of Glory Movie – Tagalog Audio – 15 Scenes left to edit

⚑  Continued good health

Thanks for praying with us and for us!

Prayer Request Dec. 15th

Dear Friends and Family!

Praise the LORD, we received the green light from our village kapitan, and LORD willing, he will hand out the 265 bags of 5kg/11lbs of rice to our folks here the morning of December 15th.

Our kapitan, Jun, will also pick up the rice in town for us!  What a blessing!

⚑  Please pray for good weather, as it has been raining hard the last few days…

⚑  Please pray for all the people here, as most are terrified about the COVID-19 cases in our county (Romblon).

We thank the LORD for His provision, protection, our place here, and good health!

Thanks for praying with us and for us!

In Him!

Urgent Prayer Request! Nov. 10th, 2020

Dear praying Friends and Family!

We are in total lockdown again!

The mayor’s office issued an executive order to put the entire island of Romblon in to ECQ (Enhanced Community Quarantine)!

It is due to an outbreak of COVID-19 in the main town. 46 individuals have been isolated in the town’s clinic. They have been in contact with one local teacher that reportedly died from COVID-19.  So far it has been reported that 2 individuals have died. However, it is hard for us to distinguish what the facts are and what is assumption.  The entire island is in panic mode, please pray!

According to the ECQ mandate, Karen & I (age 60+) are NOT allowed to leave our house until further notice. However, one of us can go to town for food & medicine, if need to…

Sadly, all in-person ministry activities (Kid’s Club & Bible Studies) had to be suspended.  The Coffee Shop in town also closed, even that we are allowed to serve “take out” items.  We just don’t want to risk it!

Please pray for everybody’s safety!

And, also, please continue to pray for:

⚑ the audio dubbing of “King of Glory” into the Tagalog language

⚑ God to open the hearts of men and women for the gospel in our village

⚑ strength and continued health

⚑ our PH Visa renewal to go smoothly

⚑ income at the Coffee Shop, a livelihood program, closed due to COVID-19 cases in town

Thanks for praying with us and for us!
